Community Outreach
First Christian Church, Boulder is committed to reaching out to our community and to the world. We sponsor many programs that reach people outside our congregation.

Community Table is a hot meal ministry begun by the Interfaith Council of Boulder, Community Food Share, and First Christian Church in January 1998. Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, a group of volunteers from the Boulder faith communities, schools, and other organizations in Boulder prepares and serves a hot meal to people in need in our community. We serve anywhere from 20 to 80 meals per evening. Our focus is on needy seniors and families, but all are welcome at our table!

Denominational Outreach Programs: First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Boulder participates in six annual offerings of our denomination supporting international, national, and regional outreach.

The Easter, Pentecost, Thanksgiving, and Christmas offering go to the Disciple Mission Fund; the other special offerings are Reconciliation and Week of compassion. In addition to these special offerings of our denomination, First Christian Church also participated in the Tsunami relief offerings recently collected.

Local Outreach: Local outreach programs we are involved with include Golden West Senior Residence,

Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home,

United Ministries in Higher Education, CROP Walk, Boulder County AIDS Project, Share-A-Gift, Boulder Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (formerly Boulder County Safehouse), and many others both as individuals and as a faith community.
