Thank you all for your support of
the Book Fair. We sold half of the books
that we brought to be sold. The Library
Committee thanks you. We also have a new
shelf for new books. Many were bought at
past book fairs and have finally made their way to the shelves. Please check it out. If you find a book to check out, please sign
and date the checkout card and leave in the gray metal box in the southeast
corner of the library.

I very much appreciate your on-going prayers and support as I progress through the initial cycles of chemotherapy. Each cycle seems to bring new surprises and problems that might be intolerable without knowing so many people are "there" for me.
Thank you all!

DIACONATE NEEDS HELP!!!
If you are looking for a way to serve your church community that doesn't take much of a time commitment, being a Diaconate Team Leader and / or Member could work for you.
There's 1 team for each Sunday of the month (once a year each team also serves on a 5th Sunday). The team arrives at 9:00 a.m. to start the coffee for FCC, set up the sanctuary and communion, passes out bulletins prior to the service and arranges for the candle lighting, passes the collection trays, serves communion and cleans up after the service. That's, it and we're done by 1:00 p.m. That's only 4 hours a month.
Please call Deb or Dave Manica at 303.666.8868 to volunteer. We really need Team Leaders and Members.

Celebrate the Gift!!!
This is the theme for our 2007 Christmas Offering for Regional
Ministry. All gifts will remain within
our own Region, which is our congregation's extended family, and will be used
to support congregations and pastors, to establish new churches and strengthen
existing ones, to share in mission projects and ecumenical partnerships, and to
nurture those training for ministry. The
Region is the front line of support for congregations and pastors. Let's remember this special offering on
December 16th and 23rd.

LEADERSHIP RETREATS –
JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2008
At the beginning of each year the church has a planning retreat for committee chairs, committee members, and anyone else who would like to participate. In 2008, as we continue the transition to a new location for our church, we are glad to welcome Rev. Elizabeth Thompson of Centus Counseling, Consulting, and Education to lead us through training on how churches face transition and conflict. This training is a follow-up to the Discernment Process the church began in 2007.
On Saturday, January 12th, from 9 am – 1 pm, Rev. Thompson will lead us in the first part of the training, looking broadly at congregations in transition and how that affects each member. After a light lunch, the committees of the church will meet to plan the year’s events and programs.
On Saturday, February 2nd, again
from 9 am – 1 pm, Rev. Thompson will help us to apply the concerns of
congregations in transition to First Christian Church –
I encourage everyone who is in a leadership role, or who wishes to gain a better understanding of transition and the conflict that it can bring, to attend both the January 12th and February 2nd retreats.
