At the annual meeting on November 12th both the budget and slate of officers for 2007 were adopted. Hugh Crowder reported on the quest to find property for our new building. There was much discussion around why the Café Committee and the Board had chosen the church property rather than the school property. Hugh explained that the cost of borrowing money to purchase the land and the cost of the land was a big part of the decision. There was some discussion about how to plan for mission and program as we move forward. At the board meeting in November the Board received a proposal from Eleanor Hubbard and it was decided that Eleanor would bring a suggestion for how to investigate our mission and how to keep it foremost in our minds as we move forward.
The new committee chairs will be approaching you to ask you to serve on their committee during the next year. Please say yes when you are asked. We need each of you to become involved in the process as we move forward. If you would prefer to choose your committee, here is the list of committees and chairs. All you need to do is choose yours and tell the chair you want to be part of the committee in 2007.
Education - Jeff Wilkins-Crowder
Church Growth and Membership - Doris Martin
Outreach and Christian Action - Carol Ashmore
Worship - Rachel Shepherd
Property - Dennis Hubbard
Diaconate - Debbie and Dave Manica
Library - Marilyn Howell
If you don’t see your favorite thing to do on this list, talk to Erik Mason or myself and we will help you find your place to serve.

UPDATE ON THE
On November 14, the Trustees signed an Amendment to the Agreement to sell our real estate. The amendment moves the contract due diligence (inspection period) date from November 14 to December 14, 2006. Also, this Amendment moves the Replacement Property Deadline from June 30, 2007, to July 30, 2007.
This additional 30 days for the due
diligence was needed to complete paperwork confirming verbal agreements between
Golden West and the buyer of FCC property related to easements on FCC property,
and to remove an old easement and agreement on the
