SUNDAY, JUNE 4TH!

Celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday, June 4.

If you have RED clothing, please wear it for this special celebration.  The special offering for Pentecost goes to support new church development and leader training.  During the worship hour we will also recognize our loyal church school teachers.  Those to be honored are Milton Ashmore, Sarah Johnson, Echo McAfee, Heather McLaughlin, Mary Rios, Jim Tallman, Polly Warkentine, Kay Lowe-Wendling, and Cindy Zimmerman.

The Worship Committee will host and provide dessert for this salad potluck lunch after which we’ll join in an “olde time-y” hymn sing.  So there’s something for everybody—food for the spirit and food for the body.  See y’all there!

THANKS FROM TENNYSON CENTER

Dear FCC Boulder,

Thank you for your recent gift of a 1994 Ford E350 Club Wagon to Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home.  Your support helps us serve

the neediest kids in the Rocky Mountain region.

                                                                                                            Serving together,

                                                                                                            Bob Cooper, CEO

LABYRINTH WALK

On Memorial Day weekend you are invited to Rocky Mountain School, 5490 Spine Road in Boulder to walk the outdoor labyrinth to honor and remember those in your lives who have died.  If you'd like, bring a candle to take on your walk Sunday evening, May 28, 7-10 p. m.  The event is free and open to the public.

Designer Cheryl Andrews explained that their labyrinth is a modified classical Cretan 7-Circuit labyrinth.  Modifications include a rounded shape, an enlarged center, and a processional exit for group use.  The length of the walk into the center and out is 1/4 mile.  Pathways are marked by cobblestones.  A second, 30' painted labyrinth of the same design, wheelchair accessible, is also on the property.  Both labyrinths, built by members of the RMS community, are outdoors.

THANKS FOR THE COOKIES!

            Dear Church Family,

I just wanted to thank you all for sending me the care package.  It made me feel so good seeing the box full of treats sitting on the mailbox table in my house.  It made me feel loved and I knew you all were thinking of me and wishing me a good finals week.  My roommate and I really enjoyed them as we were studying for our finals.  They went really well and I am looking forward to a relaxing summer and seeing you all again soon.  It was much appreciated.  Thank you so much,

                                                                                                Erica Haseman

RUMMAGE SALE

The annual Rummage Sale has been scheduled for August 25th and 26th.  Please start saving gently used articles for resale.  Please do not bring them to the church yet as we really don't have any where to store them this year.  Also please start thinking about how you can help with the sale.  We will need people to set up on Wednesday and Thursday as well as helpers on the day of the sale.

PARENT / CHILD DEDICATION HELD

On Mother’s Day, May 14th, Angela and Mark Geissinger made promises, along with the congregation, to raise their baby daughter, Faith Lea, in a Christian home and community.  This beautiful service of dedication was witnessed and participated in by paternal grandparents, Marcie Geissinger and Neil Ashby.  A cradle cross, rose and certificate of dedication were presented to the family.

LIFE AND NEWS OF THE CONGREGATION!

What a gathering it was in Tulsa to see Dr. Barbara Wilkins-Crowder receive her Doctor of Ministry degree!  On hand were Jeff, Alie, and Aaron Wilkins-Crowder; Cindy, Steve, Shawn and Jess Crowder; plus Jean and Ray Crowder!

Speaking of graduates, thanks to Peggie Hudiburg, Becky Campbell-Howe, Cindy Crowder, Debbie Haseman and Doris Martin for providing all the ingredients for a wonderful “Commencement Celebration!”  One of our best potlucks to date!

Many of our church family have already planned summer get-aways.  Mary ann Pinon will train across Canada, Marcie Geissinger and Neil Ashby will sun in Sicily, Kay and Dave Norris plan to hula in Hawaii and Linda Abel will irrigate in Iowa [they have lots of cornfields

in Iowa, but you try to find an “i” alliteration!]

Pauline Matteson, who only recently discovered she has cracked her pelvis, enjoyed a nice visit from her son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Norma, who live in Grand Junction.

Before she was hospitalized for a fall, Margaret Gray had a surprise visit from her son, Jim, all the way from Palm Springs.

Joann Dennett’s knee surgery is to be rescheduled.  She has a case of pneumonia!

Shawn Crowder and Jess Crowder both received academic letters and band letters for their excellence in academics and music!  Shawn also received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for outstanding achievement in the field of jazz and the President’s Educational Excellence Gold

             Award for outstanding academic excellence.

Albert Allen will move to Mesa Vista of Boulder next week.  He is doing much better.

Dennis and Eleanor Hubbard enjoyed a road trip to Marshalltown, Iowa this past week.  Hope you enjoyed that beautiful, scenic Iowa, Dennis!
